 Techniques

Techniques paintings used in the realization of artistic works are various. Artistic performances carried out through the assembly of differents techniques, as watercolor techniques, tempera, oil, acrylic tecniques, or graphic executions realized through the use of pencil or charcoal.
The latter, at the same time as the watercolor or oilchalk, are used for the realization of sketches before the execution of the final work. Tecniques used in the artworks present in art catalogue are various in accordance with the artist. Oil is the most used tecnique by that painters who at present follow the line of the school of neapolitan vedutism (School of Posillipo); and it permits, through the possibility of fusion among the colours, to obtain chromatism and infinite tonalities, important in the realization of the landscape. Many Italian painters prefers the landscape painted from real life, therefore the oil permits to maintain trasparence and brightness though the long times of drying.
The choice of a technique compared with another one depends on the intention of the artist of obtaining particular effects requested in the realization of the painting. It’s not to exclude the possibility of fusion of various techniques paintings: experimentation is the ground fo every single pictorial research and the prestige of a painting depends not on the technique paintings choosed for the execution of the artwork, but on the ability of the artist.
